When an opportunity presented itself for a change of direction, Sue and I decided to sell our house on the east coast of England and establish a new home in France.
We have, on many occasions 'driven through' northern France on the way to other destinations,
so we decided to explore the countryside. What we found we fell in love with -
The area provides ample opportunity for walking and the low density of traffic on the roads makes driving a pleasure again.
We did not want to be idle, hence the gites, and we enjoy the necessary involvement in looking after them. Between any maintenance and the garden of about an acre our time can be pleasantly filled.
Our aim with the gites is to have them decorated and fitted to a standard that we would like to find for ourselves and for them to provide a comfortable environment for visitors with or without families.
Our proximity to the channel ports makes Flers accessible for both holidays or short breaks which can be taken in spring or autumn. The cottages are in fact available all year round and are as comfortable in winter as in summer.
We enjoy our lifestyle and take pleasure in seeing others enjoy all that northern France has to offer.
